 Safety Processes

As a result of our commitment to workplace safety, we received a Safety Excellence Certificate of Commendation for a Lost Workday Cases Incidence Rate of Zero in 2021. Here’s how we do it.

Suttles Plumbing and Mechanical Corporation is very invested in working to provide a safe place in which to work. The prevention of accidents and injuries to our employees is our prime objective.

Our employees support safety by demonstrating the following:

  • Actively participating in company safety training and programs.

Health and Safety Plan

Before starting any project a team of Project Management, Safety, and Field Supervision personnel meet to discuss potential hazards associated with the work to be done. All hazards and site-specific information is recorded in the Health And Safety Plan (HASP) which is available to all project employees to review when needed.

Job Hazard Analysis

Every day, before the shift starts, employees conduct a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) with the entire crew. EHS Insight is used to help record all JHA’s including photos of hazards and other attachments as needed to prevent accidents and injuries.

Suttles Plumbing and Mechanical Corp. strongly encourages all company personnel to take an active and constant interest in the prevention of accidents through education in the following courses (and more):

Safety Innovatons

  • Procore

Procore is a cloud-based construction management tool that includes a quality and safety risk module. We use Procore to conduct our daily job site safety audits, weekly toolbox topics, and safety training all accessed by any internet-connected device.

  • PIP Traverse Safety Helmets

Falls are the No. 1 cause of death in the industry, representing more than half of fatal work-related traumatic injuries. When an employee slips, trips, or falls, his or her hard hat can come off before it's needed most, on impact. To address this issue we are switching from traditional hard hats to PIP Traverse Safety Helmets.

  • Lytx Dashcams

One of the most dangerous activities we perform daily is driving on the road. These cameras help capture and accurately categorize risky driving behaviors so we can coach our fleet’s drivers to avoid accidents and injuries.
